Our European Day was a great success! The children dressed in European colours and learnt about a range of European cultures and languages. European lunches were on the school menu and some of our KS1 children even managed to cook some of their own European food. Thank you to Miss Cooper for organising the day.
Welcome Back to School!
A warm welcome back to school to all of our children and staff. I do hope everyone had a restful and fun summer break and have lots of happy holiday memories! Information about the new school year and termly activities will follow shortly via our school newsletter.
Skipping Success!
Our school ended our Health, Fitness and Activity week with a day filled with active skipping! Well done to all the children and staff who did some fantastic skipping and showed how being active and keeping fit can be so much fun! It was lovely to see everyone taking part in our final skipping ‘show case’ on the school yard at the end of the day.
Putting her effort into it!
Congratulations to Anna Ellis who, after winning the Easington Schools shot put event, qualified for the regional finals and finished in second place. Well done Anna, we are so proud of you!
Zumba! Zumba! Zumba!
Well…. the children were certainly busy today learning lots of new Zumba moves! After several workshops in the school hall the children showed off their newly learnt dancing skills on the yard with a spectacular ‘Whole School’ Zumba dance performance! Thank you Stephanie for all your hard work in teaching the children all the dance moves and keeping them active throughout the day. Check out our ZUMBA video in the ‘Whole School Events’ Section of the website!
Skipping to Keep Fit!
On Wednesday, as part of our Health,Fitness and Activity week the children enjoyed taking part in a number of skipping workshops throughout the day. Despite having to skip indoors, because of the rainy weather, the children still had a fantastic time and certainly showed what good skippers they are!
Change to our School Beach Visit
Due to the varying coastal tide times at Seaham and to minimise any safety risks we have changed the date of our school beach visit which was planned for Monday 11th July. The new date will be the following week – Monday 18th July (10am – 2pm). This new date will mean our visit to the beach will not clash with any high tide. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. I do hope you are able to join us on the day to enjoy the sand, sea, ice cream and sunshine (fingers crossed!)

Keeping Fit – Sport Carousel Challenge!
As part of our Health, Fitness and Activity week the children carried out a fun sports carousel at school. There were lots of sporting skills and activities taking place with lots of budding future Olympians showing off their skills! Well done to Year 5 who spent the day representing our school in a local ‘Kwik Cricket’ competition.
Enjoying ‘Sports Day’ at our local cricket club
The children had a fabulous day during our school Sports Day. The day was filled with lots of exciting races, fun events and plenty of exercise for the children. Thank you to all parents who attended and in particular those who were brave enough to compete in the parent races! A big thank you also to New Seaham Harbour Cricket Club for allowing us to use their fabulous grounds for the day. Pictures from the day can be seen in our ‘Whole School Events’ section of the website.
