Our children enjoyed a fulfilled day to celebrate World Water Day 2019. They learnt about the importance of water and how not to waste water.The children enjoyed a water awareness assembly, classroom activities and an afternoon completing water challenges in class teams. The day ended with the head teacher getting ‘dunked’ in the ‘Dunk Duncan’ challenge!
Friends of the School Coffee Morning and Easter Hamper Raffle
The Friends of the School are holding their coffee morning on Wednesday 3rd April at 9:00am in the main school hall. Everyone is welcome to join them for a cup of coffee and a cake. There will be an Easter raffle with the chance to win a fabulous Easter hamper. Raffle tickets are still available – please contact the school office or a Friends of the School represaentative if you wish to purchase a tacket.
Year 5/6 Basketball Competition

Cross Country Success
Congratulations to Ellen-Marie Atkinson, from Year 6, who came 4th in the cross country county finals today. What a fabulous achievement, considering that the best 75 runners from across the county were competing. We are all very proud of you Ellen-Marie – well done!
Our Comic Relief Danceathon has begun!
Our Comic Relief Danceathon has begun! There will be five hours of continuous dancing in our sports studio to raise money for good causes. Charles Stewart class (Year 6) start ed the day off in great dancing style! Have fun, dance and enjoy everybody.

Football Team Competition Success
Well done to our team A football team who qualified for the final for the Barry Sutherland Cup.

100 Book Challenge Donation
A very big thank you to our fabulous ‘Friends of the School’ group who used some of their raised funds to purchase our KS1 and KS2 100 Book’s. The National Association for the Teaching of English ran a survey to find teachers’ top 100 fiction books all children should read before leaving each Key Stage and primary school. These exciting and popular books will be available for the children to read so that they can enrich their reading.
Supporting Children with Cancer
The children in school had a non uniform day to raise money for children with cancer. A big thank you to everyone who donated £1, all of which totalled £270. The school cheque was presented by our Head Boy and Head Girl to Keiran Henderson, a past pupil, who was raising funds on behalf of ‘Children with Cancer’ charity.
Swimming Success!
Our school swimming team came first place in the Easington School Sports Partnership Swimming Gala. Well done to all the children who did a fantastic job. Our swimming team have progressed through to the county finals which will be held in March. A big well done from all of us.
