School Inspection

31st October 2017 By spidrwebadmin

Dear Parents/Carers,

I have been informed today that our school will be inspected tomorrow (1st November). I have attached a letter from the Lead Inspector outlining information for all parents of pupils within school (please click the link below). A hard copy of this letter will be sent out with your child tonight.

Pupil Questionnaire –

Ofsted is inspecting your school and, would like to hear your views. You can do this by completing an online pupil questionnaire at the following link:

ofsted.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/Pupil/10032055

Your views are really important to us and, will help inspectors understand your experience of school. The questionnaire will close at 11am on 1st November 2017 to give the inspector time to look at the results. The questionnaires work in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer 11, and on mobiles and tablets when you copy and paste the link into the browser. We do not ask you your name, so you will not be identified from the responses you make.

Kind Regards,

Mr L J Duncan

New RSE Policy Parent Consultation

9th October 2017 By spidrwebadmin

Our school will be adopting a new Diocesan approved RSE policy (Relationship and Sex Education). Before the school fully adopts this policy we would like staff, governors and parents to be consulted and to review any comments regarding the draft policy. The consultation period will end on 30th January 2018. A copy of the draft policy can be found on our school website within the ‘school policy’ section. If you have any comments you wish to pass on to school please do so via the school office. Thank you.

Our new school cross begins

1st October 2017 By spidrwebadmin

The school cross for our new school building has started. The children are helping a local artist to create a colourful mosaic image of Christ. Hannah from Year4 laid the first piece of tile and what a great job she did! The cross is expected to be completed by half term and hopefully in place by the time the children return from their half term holiday.

The Mayor of Seaham visited the children to talk about all the fabulous things that Seaham has to offer. Councillor Sonia Foster answered lots of pupil questions and even allowed some lucky children to wear the Mayor’s gold chains. It was a lovely afternoon and who knows – we might even have a future mayor in school!

European Languages Day!

25th September 2017 By spidrwebadmin

The children had a great day learning all about different European countries. There were lots of  different languages being spoken, exotic foods being tasted and even Year 1 Turkish belly dancing in the school hall! The children showcased what they had learnt throughout the day in a fun filled whole school assembly. Well done boys and girls from Vatican City, Turkey, France, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Croatia.

Head Lice Warning!

25th September 2017 By spidrwebadmin

We have had a number of cases of head lice in school. Could I ask parents to be extra vigilant when combing or brushing your child’s hair. A letter will go out today with information on how to spot and treat Head Lice (a copy is available in our ‘Parent Letters’ section of our school website.) A head lice comb is best for catching head lice.
Because head lice are passed on through hair to hair contact, could I also remind parents that pupils with long hair should have their hair tied back with a bobble or clip.
If you require any further information please check out the NHS website,
