Audiologist visits Year 4

12th October 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Mr Hays, an audiologist,  spent time with the children in Year 4 teaching them all about sounds and hearing. The children learnt lots of new facts and asked many interesting questions. Who would have thought our ears could be such interesting things?

Poetry Day

12th October 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Well done to all the children who did a fantastic job writing out their own poems during our Poetry Day. It was lovely to share some of these poems during assembly and to listen to the certificate winners reading out their pieces of written work. All winners received their very own ‘book of poems’.

A Letter from the Queen!

4th October 2016 By spidrwebadmin

We received a very important letter this week from no other than her Majesty the Queen! Following our ‘Queen’s Tea Party’ in school last summer, our children wrote to the Queen to wish her a ‘Happy Birthday’. The children also included pieces of art work and special drawings too. It was lovely to receive a personal message from Buckingham Palace to thank all of our children for their kind words and pictures.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

30th September 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Macmillan Coffee Morning today. It was lovely to see so many parents, volunteers and members of the community  enjoying a cake and coffee over a friendly chat! Thank you to all who donated the fabulous cakes to sell – the school hall looked like an episode from the Great British Bake Off!  Well done to our very own ‘Mini Vinnie’s’ group for helping to organise and run the event and a special thank you to the staff at St Cuthbert’s Primary for selling some of our cakes too!

Congratulations to our parent Mrs Slater on winning the ‘Guess How Many 100’s and 1000’s are on the Cake’ competition. £48 was raised – with 1/2 going to the winner and 1/2 going to Macmillan.

Although we have more donations to come into school the current total we have raise so far is a fantastic £782.30. Thank you to you all for helping such a fantastic cause.

28th September 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Thank you to all parents who attended our Reception, KS1 and KS2 Curriculum Evenings – it was lovely to meet with you all on the presentation evenings. I hope the time you spent with your child’s class teacher was informative and gave you a clear picture of what learning is planned for this academic year. Copies of class booklets will be forwarded to those parents who were unable to attend. If you need any further information or would like to ask any questions, which you may have forgotten to ask on the night, please don’t hesitate to contact school.

Mr L Duncan (Headteacher)

European Day of Languages – magnifique!

28th September 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Our European Day was a great success! The children dressed in European colours and learnt about a range of European cultures and languages. European lunches were on the school menu and some of our KS1 children even managed to cook some of their own European food. Thank you to Miss Cooper for organising the day.
