Family Fun at our Summer Fayre!

18th June 2017 By spidrwebadmin

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our St Mary Magdalen’s summer fayre. It was a fantastic day with children and parents having a fun filled afternoon! Thank you to all the volunteers and helpers who worked really hard to make sure the day was a success. Thank you also to all our community business sponsors who donated prizes for the fayre. Special thanks must go to Mrs Spence for all her time and hard work in ensuring the children had a day to remember. The current total raised was £1682 with further donations expected to come in this week. The money raised will go a long way in helping to provide further enrichment opportunities for our children. Raffle ticket winners will be posted at the school office, at the end of the school day on Monday 19th, and winning prizes can be collected from our new school hall.

For further photo’s of the day please visit our ‘Whole School Events’ section of the website.

School Garden begins to Grow!

11th May 2017 By spidrwebadmin

Our school kitchen garden is beginning to burst into life. With the help from some kind volunteers our children have begun planting a range of vegetables and fruit. The children and staff have discovered many interesting new facts about growing healthy food and realised that gardening is not just educational but fun too! Thank you to all parent helpers who have shared their skills during planting or donated resources to the school. We will keep posting regular updates on how the garden is growing.

New Visitors to Reception

11th May 2017 By spidrwebadmin

Our Reception children are currently learning all about ‘Growing’. As part of their learning they are looking after a number of eggs in the hope that they will all hatch into lovely young chicks. They have learned that it is very important to keep the eggs warm and to turn them regularly, just as a mother hen would do. They hope that the first chick will hatch in approximately 21 days time.
